Remember remember the 5th of November gunpowder treason and plot

"Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof." V for Vendetta

Guy Fawkes day celebrates the foiling of an attempt to blow up the houses of Parliament on November 5 1605. The attack was planned by a group of Catholic conspirators which included Guy Fawkes. The explosives would have been set off when King James 1 of England (King James VI of Scotland) and many parliamentary members were in the building.

V for Vendetta is a 2006 British Action thriller film directed by James McTeigue and written by the Wachowski Brothers, based on the 1982 graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. The important lesson in this the film and celebration of the date can be tied to recent events.

"Where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, now you have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? who's to blame? Well, certainly there are those more responsible than others... but.. truth be told, if your looking for the guilty, you need only look in the mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now-High Chancellor.. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent and obedient consent."

I never want little S to give up his ability and right to think for himself, and to use his common sense to say.. wait what you are offering is a load of snail trail... I don't need your dog and pony show I need a government (or anything) that cares more about it's people and less about it's secrets. I want him to be able to stand above his fear and present his ideas because.... ideas are bulletproof.

Today we at our house remember the 5th of November..

I drew the guy fawkes mask (our printer is out of ink) and used it as a visual template for little S's sandwich and then placed it on the lid for serving.

That is my drawing which I trimmed down to better fit the lid.

I tried to recreate the mask in a sandwich it turned out just looking too happy.
