Tomorrow 11.23.13 is the Day of the Doctor to celebrate the 50th anniversary there will be a global Dr Who event. To celebrate I used this to inspire Little S's lunch today.
Steven Moffat (lead writer and executive producer, Doctor Who) has announced, ‘The Doctor has always been a time traveller - now he’s travelling time zones. On 23 November, it won’t be the bad guys conquering the Earth - everywhere it will be The Day of the Doctor!’
That’s because it’s been announced the 50th anniversary special will be enjoyed by millions across six continents as for the first time ever, on 23 November, Doctor Who will be broadcast across the planet in a global simulcast.
So, whilst here in the UK we’re watching The Day of the Doctor on BBC One, all across the world from Canada to Colombia, Brazil to Botswana and Myanmar to Mexico, viewers in at least 75 countries will be able to tune into one of the Time Lord’s most epic adventures as he faces the dreaded Daleks and the return of the Zygons! The US, Australia and Canada have also signed up for the simulcast which will be shown in numerous countries across Europe, Latin America and Africa.
On top of the BBC One and global TV broadcast, hundreds of cinemas in the UK and across the world also plan to screen the hotly anticipated episode.
Main Compartment:
American Cheese Dr Who - these were cut free hand from a slice of American cheese
Tardis Quesadilla - I cut a tortilla into two police box shapes and added the remaining American cheese from the Dr Who and heated until melted. Once it cooled while I was cutting the carrot sticks, I painted it blue with a drop of food coloring and 2 drops of water. I applied the food coloring with a Q-Tip and a toothpick.
Top Right Compartment:
Pretzel and Carrot sticks
Bottom Right Compartment:
Stars - These are strawberry frozen yogurt stars created by putting the yogurt into a silicon ice cube mold and freezing over night.
